Massage your way out of Breast Cancer
Sometimes, a woman just "dresses to kill". Herself that is. Reports pour in about how constricting clothing and tight underwear promotes breast cancer.
I kid you not. Because of the constriction, toxins from the tissues fail to get flushed out and accumulate in the breast area. This can lead to toxicity and ultimately, cancer.
But then, don't fear! Professionals and survivors alike recommend a good way to prevent this disease. They say that a good breast massage can help save the body from this kind of condition. Frequently performing breast massage goes a long way in avoiding breast cancer.
How does it work exactly?
Well, it is believed that breast massaging increase the blood flow in the area. This is indicated by warmth suffusing within the breast. This stimulated flow then flushes out some of the harmful chemicals lingering about the area. Then, along with the blood flow, lymph fluids are also starting to circulate, effectively draining the rest of the toxins. Lymph fluids are the watery liquid that surrounds the cells and contains disease fighting components.
Now, how to go about the actual breast massage? Breast massaging can be done by the woman herself or by someone else, i.e. her husband. Gentle kneading, rubbing or squeezing strokes may be enough to induce better flow of blood and lymph. To drain the lymph fluid, one may gently stroke radially from the nipple up to the outer edge of the breast. This is repeated a few more times as you work your way through out the circumference of the breast. It's like following the spokes of a wheel.
Caution: It's not wise to use hard pressure in performing a breast massage. You might be doing more harm than good. As an aid to your breast massage, use lotion or massaging oils to help your hands glide and prevent rub burns. Plus, it adds to the pleasure of the experience!
Try to do the breast massages frequently. Daily or every other day, once or twice a day. This is especially applicable to do at night time, when office wear is shed off and the breasts are released from their confines. Also, try not to wear a bra for more than 12 hours and during sleep. Remember that the longer the breasts are confined, the higher the risk of toxins to accumulate.
Added benefits of breast massage are:
1. Relief of discomfort when a woman is in the throes of a premenstrual cycle pain. Some women have very sensitive breast at that time so gentle stroking might soothe the pain.
2. For pregnant or nursing women who feel discomfiting changes in the sensitivity of their breasts during pregnancy or lactation, a gentle breast massage may alleviate the pain. Also, a massage rendered by the husband makes it pleasurable and comfortable, giving a much needed ego-boost to their wives.
3. It can also relieve the stressed muscles of the chest, as well as aid in healthy tissue regeneration and scar reduction in cases of surgery.
Why not go a step further and massage the neck and shoulders? Not only that this will relax the body more, it will revitalize and refresh the spirit too.
If in the course of performing breast massage, self-massage or by another person, should you encounter a lump, see your doctor. Take note not to massage these areas until your physician says it's okay. This could be the beginnings of a tumor that just might spread if you knead it too much.
